A Seasonal feel in the studio

Focus Stacking

We have continued our relationship with Tesco’s wines into it’s third year to capture their new range of wine at the Captivate studio with tight evolving brand guidelines.

One of the primary challenges was photographing multiple wine bottles in a single frame. To achieve precise focus across all labels, we needed to take multiple shots at various focus points and then layer them in post-production to create a sharp, cohesive final image. This technique, known as focus stacking, ensured that each label was legible and the bottles’ textures were crisp, avoiding the softened effect that might occur if captured in a single shot.

The Final Product

Balancing both technical precision and the desired seasonal mood required close coordination between our lighting, camera, and post-production setups. With each bottle shot individually to ensure label clarity, we could then layer the images to maintain focus while retaining the sunlit feel that the client wanted. The result was a series images that advertises the wines in a way that felt natural. Each bottle stands out and the lighting set up conveys the summery feel Tesco envisioned.
